Man, I don’t know.

I think I’ve seen like, an episode of Naruto and a few clips of Bleach. I don’t know these characters let alone how Death Battle’s going to interpret them.

So yeah, fair warning, I’m flying blind here.

But consider the following: this has been a season for balance. Star Wars had a win against Naruto, and so it got a loss against Kingdom Hearts. Shadow gets air lifted out of the oxygen club. Dr. Doom gives Marvel a streak, only for Po to break it. SNK was 2-0 and Tekken 0-1, so Geese dies to Heihachi. Link vs Cloud sets the record straight. Dio avenges JJBA’s one loss. Storm gives the X-men their only win if you don’t count the early Wonder Woman vs Rogue, which was made in the pre-research team era. Shao Khan breaks MK’s losing streak. Reverse Flash at once breaks DC’s losing streak and Dragon Ball’s win streak.

I really do think they try and keep scores balanced. I really do think it bothers them online when people say they’re biased, because they’re total sissies who recoil from criticism, valid or otherwise, like vampires from the cross, or BLM from crime statistics.

Bleach is 0-1, and its only loss came from Naruto at that, so it’s very likely that Aizen is going to take the win to balance the score at 1-1. And let’s be real. The show runners don’t particularly care for Naruto. Gaara vs Toph is vies with Tifa vs Blonde Tifa for biggest screwjob.

What’s the big argument for Aizen? As far as I can tell, Aizen has a sword and if you look at it, he puts you under the mind whammy. He traps you in a mind illusion that doesn’t end until he tells it to, and you’ll be stuck fighting someone you think is real while he’s off to side watching you flail around like an idiot in reality. Basically, you lose if you look at the sword. In Mutants and Masterminds terms, its a ranged perception affliction that always hits at the highest degree.

It sounds overpowered, and in the right context it is, but really its your standard mind control power with the added limitation of you having to look at his sword.

So Aizen flashes his sword, GG, right? Well, some people say that Madara’s funky looking pink eye which can see through illusions will bust through the sword illusion. But other people say the pink eye will fail, because while it could so say, allow him to bust Mysterio, it wouldn’t do anything if he was fighting Professor X, and what Aizen does is closer to Professor X than Mysterio.

Is Death Battle going to rule that the sword illusion works? I don’t know. On one hand, they ruled that the pink eye would trump the Jedi mind trick in Kakashi vs Obi-Wan, but on the other hand the fight preview is out and we saw Aizen flash the sword and then pull a “nothing personal kid” move on Madara. That would seem to indicate that the sword illusion is working on Madara, but maybe Swan’s going to have Madara strain his eye really, really hard and break the illusion a minute into the fight.

I don’t know.

Screw it, I’ll put my marker on Aizen. Let’s see how it goes.
